Menus
When an item
is dimmed in the menu bar this means it
is not applicable at that time (for example, if no text
has been selected, it is not applicable to copy
it).
The JET 3270 menu bar includes:
- Session
- New Window - Creates a new window using this
window's session.
- New - Creates a new session in this window. (+)
- Open... - Displays the Open Session dialog box, so you
can select a session to open in this window
- Close - Closes this window.
- Save - Saves the session to the local file system.

- Save As... - Displays the Save Session As dialog, so you
can specify a name to save the session as. (+)
- Settings - Displays the Session Settings dialog box, so
you can view and/or modify the session settings. (+)
- Send File...
- Receive File...
- Print Screen... - Prints the terminal screen.
- Preferences - Displays the Preferences dialog box, so
you can view and/or modify the preferences. (*)
- Edit
- Cut - Copies the selected text to the clipboard then
deletes it.
- Copy - Copies the selected text to the clipboard.
- Paste - Inserts text from the clipboard at the cursor
location. The clipboard contents
may be from the JET 3270
terminal screen or another application.
- Connection
- Connect - Connects to the host.
- Disconnect - Terminates an existing connection.
- Stop Script/Recording - Stops a running script or
a recording.
- Record Session for Script - Starts recording keystrokes
for saving as a script. (+)
- Printing
- Start Printer Session
- Stop Printer Session
- Help
- How To - Displays the JET 3270

which provides information on how to perform some basic
JET 3270 tasks.
- Contents - Displays the table of contents of the
JET 3270 Documentation which provides
information on JET
3270 installation, configuration and use.
- About JET 3270 - Displays the About JET
3270 dialog box with version information.
(*) This menu item is not displayed if the
disable_preferences applet parameter is
set to yes.
(+) These menu items are not displayed if the
disable_session_settings applet
parameter is set to yes.
