Working with installed class files
Finding the version of JET 6530 class files installed
Microsoft VM
To find which version of the JET 6530 class files are
installed do the following:
- Start Windows Explorer
- Navigate to the "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files" directory
- The version number for the JET 6530 distribution unit will be
displayed in the Version column of the
row with JET 6530 in the
Program Name column.
Netscape VM
To find which version of the JET 6530 class files are
installed do the following:
- Start Communicator
- Open the SmartUpdateVersion.html file in the utilities
directory of
the JET 6530 distribution
- The version number for the JET 6530 package
will be displayed after
java/download/platypuspartners/jet6530.
If the JET 6530
classes are not installed version is null will be displayed.
Internet Explorer under Windows
To find which version of the JET 6530 class files are
installed do the following:
- Start Windows Explorer
- Navigate to the "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files" directory
- The version number for the JET 6530 distribution unit will be
displayed in the Version column of the
row with JET 6530 in the
Program Name column.
Removing the JET 6530 class files
Microsoft VM
To remove the JET 6530 class files do the following:
- Close any Internet Explorer windows.
- Start Windows Explorer.
- Navigate to the "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files" directory.
- Right click JET 6530 in the
Program Name column.
A pop-up menu appears.
- Select Remove from the pop-up menu.
A Remove Program File dialog box appears.
- Click Yes.
Netscape VM under Windows
To remove the JET 6530 class files do the following:
- Start Communicator.
- From the Edit menu select Preferences.
The Preference dialog box appears.
- Click the plus sign next to Advanced in the Category section.
Cache, Proxies and SmartUpdate sub-categories appear
- Click SmartUpdate.
- Click JET 6530 in the list on the right side of the dialog.
- Click Uninstall.
An Uninstall dialog box appears.
- Click Yes.
- Click OK.
- Quit Communicator.
Netscape VM under Solaris, HP-UX, Linux and AIX
To remove the JET 6530 class files do the following:
- Start Communicator.
- Open the SmartUpdateRemove.html file in the utilities directory of
the JET 6530 distribution.
- Click the Remove button.
A dialog box appears saying the removal is complete.
- Click OK.
- Quit Communicator.
