JET API MultiHost Overview

JET API MultiHost offers a JavaTM 3270 host and 6530 access API. With capability similar to HLLAPI, JET API incorporates the draft version of the OHIO (Open Host Interface Objects) interface. The OHIO interface is easy to use and offers efficiencies both in code and applet size. JET API includes our JET emulator as the developer window to the host. JET licenses are included with JET API purchase.

Including Java Beans support, you can use your favourite Java Beans development tool to graphically glue together JET API MultiHost Beans. In most cases, you can build your new host interface without writing any Java code.

JET API offers developers an abstraction of an IBM host connection that can be used to develop new interfaces to legacy applications. JET API implements host access functions independent of a user display. This eliminates the overhead of interpreting and displaying an emulator window. Your new Java applet has no dependency on 3270/6530 datastreams or screen specific formats.

As a Java API, JET API can be implemented on any Java enabled web server or client workstation platform. Your new host legacy application interface brings all the benefit of a Java web solution.
